Miradas

Mirar es un acto que nadie confiesa.
Se hace de paso, de reojo,
a través de algo:
un cristal, una verja, la distancia justa.

Looking is an act no one admits to.
It's done in passing, out of the corner of your eye,
through something:
a window, a gate, the right distance.

La ciudad lo sabe y pone barreras
que no protegen de nada.
Solo dan la ilusión de que el otro no ve.

The city knows and puts up barriers
that protect nothing.
They only give the illusion that the other doesn't see.

Pero el otro siempre ve.

But the other always sees.
